First Street, near HOME, will be brought to life over the Manchester Folk Festival weekend.

On Saturday 19 October there's anarchic outdoor entertainment to delight the whole family, with street theatre companies outside HOME in a colourful celebration of music and togetherness.


On Sunday 20 October the pace slows, with free folk and acoustic music in nearby bars and cafes.

Shimmer Tree is an impressive six metre high tree-like sound and light sculpture controlled by the wind.

The Band at the End of the World

@ Tony Wilson Place

Saturday 19 October, 12pm & 3pm

Presented by Ramshacklicious. Dressed in punk marching band attire, they will arrive in a cloud of raucous brass heavy music, driving a home-made, flaming battle-church.

Boom Bike BourÉe

@ Tony Wilson Place

Saturday 19 October, 11.30am & 2.30pm

Boom Bike Bourrée play Medieval hip-hop with hurdy-gurdy, beatboxing, accordion, and trombone.

Free Live Music @ Innside, Gasworks Brewery and Bunny Jacksons

Sunday 20 October, 12pm–5pm

Treat yourself to brunch or unwind over a pint as you listen to live music from The Buffalo Skinners, Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh, Amy May Ellis, Fish on a Stick, and Esther Swift.

Pub Singaround

@ The Britons Protection
