Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith

 Sunday 6 October, 3pm-4.30pm

People’s History Museum

£10 (+ booking fee)

A special trailblazer event before the start of

Manchester Folk Festival

Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith are one of the finest duos to have emerged onto the British folk and acoustic scene in recent years.  The duo’s live performances are a celebration of traditional music, including a common thread of political struggle, resistance, and justice, as well as the occasional love song.

Their shows manage to be both hard hitting and uplifting, and it is this ability that justifies their reputation as two of the most exciting musicians and social commentators on the scene.

This is the perfect pairing of artist and location: insightful, empathetic social commentary in the national museum of democracy.

People's History Museum is a fascinating, free entry museum, open 10am-5pm daily. Be sure to arrive early enough to visit: it won't disappoint

All ages welcome

“To be a great folk singer, you have to be a great storyteller, as Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith are clearly aware. The duo are both fine singers and multi-instrumentalists.” - The Guardian
