Marry Waterson & Emily Barker

 Friday 18 October, 6.30pm

HOME, Theatre 2

£14 (+ booking fee)

English folk royalty meets Australian country soul in this charmed collaboration between Marry Waterson and Emily Barker: two revered musicians on an exciting, explorative musical journey.

After a fortuitous meeting on a songwriting retreat at the invitation of Kathryn Williams, the pair discovered an immediate kinship when they started writing together.

The intriguing combination of Marry’s poetic lyrics and Emily’s eclectic musicality pushes the boundaries of each artist's individual styles, venturing into a diverse union of genres – contemporary folk, country and soul nestles comfortably alongside lilting indie and playful blues.

Together, with the eclectic production skills of Adem and the multi-instrumentalist skills of Lukas Drinkwater they have recorded a full album of original songs - A Window to Other Ways - that are a fly-on-the-wall observation of the contradictions and disconnections of modern life. •

"One is an English folk voice, the other an Australian soul songwriter, but together they traverse style and geography to truly connect." CLASH
